Hold PDP, APC responsible for crisis in Ondo State – SDP
The Ondo State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has asked security agents to be proactive in combating criminal activities ahead of the governorship election in the state.
The party made the call following protests over the release of the final list of governorship candidates for the November 26 governorship election.
Its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Remi Olayiwola, in a statement said the protests that trailed the removal of Mr. Eyitayo Jegede’s name and its replacement with Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has to do with the flag bearer of only one out of the 28 participating political parties in the election.
Buhari behind Ibrahim’s emergence as Ondo PDP candidate – Babatope
A member, Board of Trustees, Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being behind the emergence of business mogul, Jimoh Ibrahim, as the candidate of the opposition party in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.
In a text message on Sunday, Babatope said Buhari manipulated the political events in Ondo State in order to favour Ibrahim and set the state on the path of dictatorship.
He called on Nigerians to resist what he described as President Buhari’s ploy to destroy democracy in the country.
Babatope said the declaration of Ibrahim as the governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo State was designed by Buhari and the All Progressives Congress to electorally manipulate the governorship election.
