Edo guber: Obaseki signs pact with Edo teachers

Godwin Obaseki

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Saturday governorship election in Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, yesterday reached an agreement with teachers in the state, with a pledge to take their welfare seriously if elected.
He also promised to always engage teachers periodically and strengthen primary and secondary curriculum for the education, adding that he would fulfill his promises to the electorate.
Obaseki spoke yesterday during an interactive session with the teachers under the umbrella of the
Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Edo state chapter.
“If the situation in Edo was like it was in 2007, i will not be who i am today. I didn’t know things were worse than what i thought until we got to government house”.
“We have a long way to go, by the grace of God, in my four year term I will refurbish our entire primary and more secondary school because we must start to get our beginning right.
Chairman of NUT, Comrade Mike Uhunwangho, had earlier recalled the state government resolve of prompt payment of their salaries and urged Obaseki to sustain the feat.
