The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, says that only the All Progressives Congress (APC) has development and security plan for the people. Amaechi stated this at the APC Rivers West Senatorial Zonal Special Rally, which took place at the Industrial Unit Field, Bonny, as part of preparation for the forthcoming rerun elections in the state.
The minister, represented by the APC deputy governorship candidate during the 2015 election in the state, said: “Only the APC can provide good things of life for the people of Rivers West.” He said that several roads would be rehabilitated in the state by the APC-led government, especially
the Bonny-Bomu Road, Ring Road among others. Amaechi said that “when the federal government is willing to
help us, and we elect opposition members, would the federal government be able to help us freely?” He said that only the APC-led federal government can bring about genuine and effective security to the state. He said: “Is it (Nyesom) Wike’s security you want or that of the federal government? There are many undecided voters, now take the message to them, we have tried PDP
for 16 years and we were not better off, let’s try the APC.” Rivers South-east Senatorial District candidate of the party, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, said that there was unity of purpose among people ahead of the forthcoming rerun election. He said: “I know it has been a long and torturous journey, but nothing good comes easy. Work hard and play hard. Victory is certain by the grace of God.”
